Dialogue New Giving — A brief introduction and overview

In late fall 2019, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier hosted a small group of wealth holders and experts. At the end of the dinner, he asked
the participants to come back with insights and recommendations on overcoming barriers to more philanthropic engagement.

This impulse evolved into the Dialogue New Giving, a private and information deliberation initiative that addresses the personal, legal and practical obstacles to greater giving. The dialogue has grown into a larger effort and spawned a number of funded initiatives.

On 13 September 2021, the group meets again at Bellevue Palace.

In this short summary, we have synthesized many of the insights and recommendations, as well as an overview of the state of implementation of the initiatives inspired by the conversations.
